Meet our Pastor

​LIVINGSTONE S. DORE
 
I was born on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts, also known as St. Christopher.  I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Lebanon Valley College in Lebanon, PA., and a Master of Divinity degree from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey.  I was ordained an Elder in the Central Pennsylvania (now The Susquehanna) Conference. 
 
Before coming to Virginia, I served churches in the Central Pennsylvania Conference for several years.   My last appointment was in Hershey, PA.  I served Charles Wesley UMC in McLean, and prior to that, I served as pastor at Chamberlayne Heights UMC, in Henrico, and Associate Pastor at Ramsey Memorial UMC, in Richmond.
 
My passion for ministry focuses on preaching and teaching as well as mission and outreach.  I am currently serving on the following Conference and District level Committees:  Board of Ordained Ministry, Church Development Team, and Northern Virginia Board of Missions.
 
I previously served in various community organizations.  This included a Member of The Board of Directors – The Rotary Club of Richmond, VA., and as a member of The Board of Directors (Staff Development Team) – Capital Area Partnership Uplifting People (CAPUP), Richmond.
 
My wife, Michele, is from Johnstown PA.  She currently works as a Tax Manager for Ernst & Young.  She specializes in Tax Regulatory and Compliance and fiduciary taxes.   We have two children.  Our son Leon is a medical doctor completing his residency- General Surgery, in Tampa, FL.   Our daughter Miranda is a Legal Assistant/Project Manager for a law office in Washington, DC, and Law student at American University, Washington, DC.
 
Michele and I are looking forward to getting to know you. I welcome the opportunity to come and serve among you as pastor and fellow disciple in God’s great kingdom.
