Hey Y’all!!!
I’m so very excited to be a part of the Great Falls Community!!
For those who do not know and aren’t aware I am your new Director of Youth and Family Ministries! I was born and raised in a small
southern rural area named Tannersville, Virginia. I grew up being the youngest and only girl getting picked on by my two older brothers but I wouldn’t have it any other way. For as long as I can remember my Sundays were spent sitting on the front pew of church while my mother played the piano and occasionally rolled her eyes at us when we weren’t being the quiet kids we were told to be before going in. I graduated from Tazewell High School in 2008 and made my way to Radford University in the fall. Only to have some pressing medical issues that finally brought me back home after 2 years. After a year at a community college I found the College that I had been looking for all along. I started school at a small private Christian College named Bluefield College where I fell deeply in love with Musical Theatre and so became a Theatre Major. But most importantly my faith was strengthened after a tough few years. I found my relationship with God prospering more and more and now I’m not sure where I would be if I had not found Bluefield College when I did. I will received my Bachelors of Arts in Theatre in of December 2015.
I’m 26 and I love anything that has to do with history or any type of adventure or exploring. As you already know I have a deep love for theatre especially musical theatre since the theatre department did steal me away from the music department. I love anything that has to do with music and getting a chance to sing since I was a member of our elite traveling group Variations and our Praise Singers. I’m a huge sports fan especially baseball and football, and my Virginia Tech Hokies! I enjoy softball and volleyball since I got to play in college. I also am interested in crafts; so any and everything I can repurpose I’m up for the challenge. An interesting fact: my mother and I make baskets and recane chairs.
I’m so excited about this new adventure with Great Falls UMC! I’m very thankful for the opportunity and can’t wait to hit the ground running. But what I’m most excited about is that I feel like I’ve already made a family who has been amazing and loving through this entire process. I can’t wait to get to know each and every one of you in the months to come and look forward to you all getting to know me as well and my faith journey!
Blessings!
